In a week when French and British fighter jets have scrambled to deter Russian bombers from entering their airspace, Michael Fallon the British Defence Secretary has warned there is a “real and present danger” that Vladimir Putin will launch a campaign of undercover attacks to destabilise the Baltic states on Nato’s eastern flank”.
